I am a university lecturer in clinical anatomy & surgery. And a doctor with a special interest in sports medicine & advising against cosmetic surgery ... Err, see for example Joan Rivers ;-) Originally from Melbourne, Australia. now living in a fabulous old two-storey terrace house in Darlinghurst, Sydney (inner east). I agree with Judy Garland (or was it Rose Tremain?) who quipped: "life is not a dress rehearsal" ... and so passionately embrace the concept of living each day to the max! I'm into comedy, love, music, physical fitness & healthy living ... in any order or combination ... but can veg out, on the couch, in a pair of ugg boots, scooping at a tub of ice-cream, with the best of em! I am single, straight, slightly eccentric and live with three rather large (but very clean) dogs: 'Kiara' (Alaskan Malamute) 'Ruby' & 'Kev' (Rhodesian Ridgeback/Great Dane crosses). I'm into: Animal Welfare; Human Rights; Humour; Irony; Sarcasm; Satire; Dave Chappelle; Richard Pryor; Peter Cook & Dudley Moore; Steve Martin; Robin Williams; Arthouse Movies; Classic Movies; Cult Movies; Music Played by Real Musicians; South Pacific Islands; Organic Vegetables; Japanese Cuisine; Thai Cuisine; French Champagne; Kokoda (Fiji National Dish); Swimming; Jogging; Cycling; Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers; Double Malt Milkshakes. I particularly love animals, ALL animals, both domestic & wild, and am an avid (but not ya tree-huggin') conservationist. I do not accept violence of any kind (especially if directed towards women, children or animals) and abhore any violation of personal & civil rights. I don't trust politicians or lawyers. I passionately believe that unsanctioned pre-emptive war is absolutely wrong. The place to resolve international conflicts is the UN security council. With all its shortcomings, it is currently the only civilized option and the place for dictators and despotic tyrants is in the dock of the World Court in the Hague. Revenge; retribution; terrorism and unilateral invasions of any country have no moral validity. Once all the serious topics are out of the way ... At night, I'm into good food & Motown music ... and practising Latin-Afro-Caribbean percussion (Conga/Tumba/Djembe drums) & Jazz bass guitar - wistfully, hoping to join a band sometime! I'm no Vail Johnson virtuoso musical talent ... but have good pitch & timing, can definitely hold a beat & 'feel' soul/jazz/funk rhythms! ;-) I love the ballet ... great fan of George Balanchine and the NYC ballet company. And the music of those great Russian romantic composers: Peter Tschaikovsky; Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov; Igor Stravinsky; Sergei Prokofiev; Alexander Glazunov; Aram Hachaturyan.
